Adding the TechInfo Doctype to HARP

  1. Navigate to the following path in your Arbortext® install tree: C:\Program Files\PTC\ArbortextEditor\application\com.ptc.arbortext.techinfo\doctypes
  2. Copy the techinfo and techinfomap folders to another location, such as your Desktop.
  3. You can delete all files EXCEPT for the XML Schema (*.xsd) files and the catalog files.

    Afterwards, the folders should look like the following:

  4. Zip up/compress techinfo and techinfomap as separate *.zip files.

    Note: For the ideal setup, zip up the files inside the techinfo and techinfomap

  5. In the desired organization or project, create a new Document Type.
  6. Enter techinfo for the name and base it on DITA 1.2 Topic.
  7. Open the new techinfo Doctype and upload the techinfo.zip file.
  8. In the same organization as above, create another new Document Type.
  9. Enter techinfomap for the name and base it on DITA 1.2 Map.
  10. Open the new techinfo Doctype and upload the techinfomap.zip file.
  11. Select the top-level TechInfoMap project folder and click the XML Document Types tab.
  12. Click the Add Document Types button and select TechInfo and click OK.

    Without this step, the TechInfoMap schema would fail to compile, because it references files in TechInfo in a catalog entry.
